The W7's long detour around Crouch Hill has an end date, and it is a lot sooner than the one the paper reported last week. Transport for London's live status says that until Monday 14 September the route runs in both directions between Stroud Green Road and Crouch End Broadway via Hanley Road, Hornsey Rise and Crouch End Hill, serving neither Crouch Hill station nor Crouch Hill itself. The diversion has been in place since 18 May.
That is nearly seven weeks knocked off a closure previously signposted into November, and it puts the link back through Crouch Hill in time for the first full week of the school term. Whether the stops are actually back in use on the Monday morning is the thing to check at the shelter.
