Hornsey Town Hall on Crouch End Broadway turns into a craft workshop on Saturday 17 October, when the Make and Mend Festival runs from 11am to 5pm. Entry is free. If you want to make something, workshops cost between £12 and £45.

The festival is from Muswell Hill Creatives. Haringey Community Press reports that it is the first held at the Town Hall, and the organisers say it is part of the building's 2026 A Hall for All programme.

A sashiko coaster, for visible mending, is £45. For children, mini fabric patch printing (ages 5 to 8) is £12.

You can book a workshop ahead through the organiser's Eventbrite collection or drop in on the day.

Haringey Community Press also reports a Makers' Market selling ceramics, jewellery and textiles, with food and drink, and a prize tombola with prizes donated by makers. It says the proceeds go to Wave Hub.

A free day out with a good deal to look at is easy to recommend, and the Town Hall is a better place for it than most. If you want to make something rather than just browse, book ahead through Eventbrite so you are not left with whatever is free at the door.
